Foreword

This page is designed as a started to help you get a feel for the setting and lays down the rules for the appearance of the common areas. Though, please do not feel that this here is all there is to this place. The idea is that you can have anything you want here, within reason (Remember the rule on God-Moding, please). This place is limited to naught but your imagination, so please feel free to experiment and most of all have fun. Just because it's not written down here, doesn't necessarily mean it doesn’t exist. That being said, please keep in mind that this is a social channel, and that characters here should be at least somewhat social and respectful towards others.

Temporal Manor; a place which exists everywhere, yet is nowhere. Very few people know of its existence, and those who do, only know because they have been, or are stuck there. This isn’t necessarily because they are being held there against their will. It is more likely that they simply can’t find their way back to where they entered through the vast labyrinthine interior.

Doorways to the Multiverse

Guests enter the manor through doorways, doorways which do not appear to stand out in any particular way in the worlds they are from. There are very few doors which go to the same world or even dimension, giving some guests the illusion that they were perhaps selected to visit. For some unknown reason, more people do not find these particular doors. The true reasoning behind this is a complete mystery. In most cases the doors blend into the environment they’re discovered in; there are, however, an odd few which don’t. In a few rare instances, there have been a number which open into a forest or caves of sorts, the reasoning behind which is still a mystery.

Doors in the manor do not appear to be unique in any particular way, though there are areas of the manor which do have different themes and styling than others. In these areas, as with others, there are no doors that are distinct from the rest in their area, matching the theme of their hall. On the other side, in the worlds they are connected to, the doors fit in with their surroundings, and typically do not stand out. It is believed this is one reason that so few have entered them.

The doorways themselves are in truth, seamless portals or wormholes to alternate dimensions and spaces throughout this reality, and others. Perhaps the manor itself exists in a sub-dimension beneath all others, linking them all through one universal hub. The purpose of which is still a mystery and likely will be for some time, there are no clues as to how it came to be, or why it exists. Most, don’t even realize that they’ve passed into a completely separate dimension, the purpose of which seeming to exclusively house this manor.

Peculiarities Ensue

Any new arrivals to the manor come through one of these many doors, opening out onto a hallway like that of a hotel, with very little in the way of notable features. There are some presentable tables with flowers, occasional ornaments of sorts, though not particularly many.

The majority of guests however manage to find their way to the Common Area. This room seems to be a place for the guests to be able to gather and relax. Presumably, it was designed as a fall-back in case the guests cannot find a place to settle in another room. This is where the guests tend to gather and meet regularly.

One thing which does seem common, and perhaps peculiar is that while the guests can come from almost all places imaginable, almost all of them tend to speak the same language. This doesn’t become so much of a dilemma until later when they realise that they are no longer on their own world. It could be presumed that this is to compensate for the guests all no doubt speaking a variety of different languages from their home worlds. However what seems more curious are the select few who do not receive the same treatment. This makes the theory that the manor was in fact created by some sort of race or even deity who didn’t have enough time or perhaps couldn’t, build in every possible language in the infinite complexities of worlds and dimensions.

The place itself inside is like a fortress, spanning for many miles in each direction. It is quite impossible to say exactly how much actually exists as it would seem to be infinite in its vastness. Many, many miles have been travelled inside and not only on a two dimensional plane as in certain hallways, gravity doesn’t always pull downwards to the floor (Think M.C.Escher’s “Relativity” lithograph image, though less open, and more restricted to corridors.) There are hundreds of rooms to the place itself, the immediate majority of rooms from the common area appear to be living quarters and utility rooms of sorts, though after a short distance the rooms increase in their complexity and randomness, the varieties of which appear to be limitless.

Here, time doesn’t actually seem to mean anything, it could almost be said that it doesn’t even exist here. However the manor does appear to have a full “Day and Night” simulation system, emulating the day/night cycle of ordinary life.

Unperceived Conspiracies

It had been discovered a long time ago that there is even a link to this place and the android hostess, though how important or large their connection remains a mystery. This fact was realised by one who could almost be classed as her sister, a vocaloid by the designation ‘Odessa’ who mysteriously disappeared soon after learning this fact. The reasoning behind which is completely unknown. As it stands, though this is only speculation, the Manor itself was apparently created for the observation and preservation of life in all its forms. The android hostess in this case: ‘Uni’, was provided as a means of interfacing with the 'guests' and keeping everything under control while maintaining the premises and logging everything she experiences with the guests remotely, completely unbeknownst to her active persona.

There's more to the mysterious connection than that it would initially seem, suspicious rooms have been discovered, one of which would appear to be an android maintenance deck, while another had some form of communications tower in a snowscape realm, this facility had the ability to completely disable the android hostess’ programming, leaving her in a terminal-state until commanded to resume her prior actions. At one point inside the manor, there appears to be a room that houses some form of transportation and mapping device, allowing for instantaneous travel to any part of the manor that has been previously explored. Currently, only non-natural materials can use the teleportation device, though the android hostess is quite sure she will one day be able to set up a means of giving the guests instantaneous travel to any point within the manor.

Other strange events have begun to unfurl also, deep within the labyrinthine halls strange cables of sorts have began to crop up about the place, going into several of the neighbouring worlds for reasons which have yet to be discovered. However they all lead back to one door in a hallway which appears to transition into the style of a high-class hotel of sorts, labeled only with the number ‘752’ written in gold.
